Job description

Meadowbrook Academy is currently accepting applications for a Secondary Math Teacher for the 26/27 school year. This individual should be an active and dedicated Christian who is (or willing to become) a member of Meadowbrook Church. A person who will hold in confidence matters of information that may be sensitive to the well-being of others. A person committed to excellence in their responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited educational institution.
  • Certified Teacher OR working towards certification by the State of Florida.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of child growth and development, especially of characteristics of children in the age group assigned.
  • Knowledge of current educational research and best practices for middle and high school math content, including General Math, Algebra I and II, Geometry, and Consumer Math.
  • Basic understanding and knowledge of current technology (Newline Smart Board, Curriculum Trak, Skyward).
  • Knowledge of learning styles and skill in using varied teaching methods to address student learning styles.
  • Skill in oral and written communication with students, parents, and others.
  • Ability to plan and implement activities for maximum effectiveness that align with Florida B.E.S.T State Standards.
  • Ability to effectively assess levels of student achievement, analyze test results, and adjust instruction to improve learning outcomes.
  • Ability to maintain appropriate student supervision so that students have a safe, orderly and Christ-centered learning environment.
  • Ability to work effectively with peers, administrators, and others.

JOB GOAL:
  • To provide a Christ-centered educational atmosphere in which students will move toward the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and psychological growth and maturation in accordance with Meadowbrook Academy's philosophy, goals and objectives.
