Financial Accountant

Location: Houston, TX

We're looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to join our Accounting team and play a key role in financial reporting, budgeting, analysis, and business decision support.

Reporting directly to the Controller, this position is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys working with financial data, collaborating with leaders across the organization, and developing meaningful financial insights that drive business performance.

What You'll Do

  • Assist with the annual budgeting process
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and management reports
  • Develop and distribute the Monthly Financial Review Packet
  • Participate in monthly financial review meetings with department managers
  • Prepare quarterly Caterpillar financial reporting
  • Complete quarterly cash flow reporting and debt compliance requirements
  • Perform complex account reconciliations and financial analysis
  • Design and develop new financial reports and reporting tools
  • Partner with departments across the company to provide detailed financial analysis and decision support
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting processes and efficiencies

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including:
  • Pivot Tables
  • VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
  • Financial data analysis
  • Strong reconciliation and analytical skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA certification
  • Experience preparing management financial reports
  • Budgeting and forecasting experience
  • Experience presenting financial information to operational leaders
