Job description

Quantum Sky is searching an experienced Senior Network Engineer to support a federal government client's network and system security and engineering efforts. The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for guiding the implementation of program standards and the development and deployment of targeted solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the network architecture;
  • Collaborate with other enterprise engineers to ensure consistency and completeness
  • Document enterprise architecture using approved documentation standards
  • Define and maintain policies, principles, hardware, and software relevant to the network
  • Support a secure and trusted network environment with access to information and communication systems operated at different security levels
  • Ensure architecture continues to reflect agency needs and technical opportunities
  • Maintain complete documentation of Federal agency information systems and identify any shortcomings with the government
  • Configure and maintain a lab environment as a near replica of the production network
  • Perform root cause analysis and develop problem resolutions following organizational change management processes. Components, technologies, and protocols for which the candidate will be responsible for network operations include, but are not limited to:
  • Cisco Routers: 800, ASR 1000 and Switches: 6500, Nexus 5000, 7000, 9500
  • Cisco ASA firewalls, Cisco ACS, Cisco FirePower
  • Routing protocols and protocols: OSPF, BGP, DMVPN, HSRP, VTP, GRE, VRRP
  • General Dynamics TACLANES and GEM-One Management
  • Cisco VTC

Required:

  • Minimum 8 years of general work experience and 6 years of relevant experience in functional responsibility.
  • Bachelor’s degree. A Master’s Degree may be substituted for 4 years of general work experience.
  • Certifications with industry-leading network manufacturers.
  • Experience with Cisco routers and switches with the following protocols HSRP, GRE tunneling, DMVPN, and OSPF.
  • Experience with IOS, ACS, NAC, ASA, Cisco Works, and KG-175 Type 1 encryption devices.

Desired:

  • CCNE
  • SAN, VMware
  • AD, DNS, Group Policy
Clearance:
  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility is required

Location:

  • There is an onsite role with expectations of being on a client site in Washington, DC.

Compensation:

  • Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The salary range for this position is typically between $145,000-$165,000. This does not guarantee a specific salary as compensation is based upon multiple factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the above-stated range.
