What are Skincare Reps?

Skincare Reps, or Skincare Representatives, are professionals who promote and sell skincare products on behalf of a brand or company. They educate customers about various skincare products, demonstrate their benefits, and often provide samples or recommendations tailored to individual skin needs. Skincare Reps may work in retail stores, spas, or independently, and sometimes host events or parties to introduce new products. Their main goal is to build customer relationships and help clients choose products that suit their skin type and concerns.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Skincare Rep, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Skincare Rep, you need a solid understanding of skincare products, basic dermatological knowledge, and sales experience, often supported by product training or a certification in aesthetics. Familiarity with CRM systems, point-of-sale software, and inventory management tools is typically required. Exceptional interpersonal skills, active listening, and persuasive communication help build trust and lasting client relationships. These skills and qualities are vital for accurately recommending products, meeting sales targets, and ensuring customer satisfaction in a competitive market.

What is the difference between Skincare Rep vs Skincare Consultant?

While both roles involve skincare, a Skincare Rep primarily focuses on selling skincare products and promoting brands in retail or direct sales settings. A Skincare Consultant offers personalized skincare advice, often working in clinics or spas, emphasizing skincare expertise and client consultation. Understanding these differences helps job seekers find roles aligned with their skills and career goals.

What are some common challenges a Skincare Rep might face when building relationships with new clients?

One common challenge for Skincare Representatives is gaining trust and credibility with new clients, especially in a competitive market with many brands. Building rapport often requires a deep understanding of both the products and the specific needs of each client, which means staying updated on product knowledge and industry trends. Additionally, Skincare Reps must balance meeting sales targets with providing genuine, personalized recommendations, which can be demanding but rewarding as client loyalty grows. Strong communication skills and resilience are key to overcoming initial skepticism and establishing long-term professional relationships.

Job description

MDX GLOBAL

Costco Roadshow Division • Nationwide

Brand Ambassador & Sales Representative - Sebamed Skincare

You're the reason someone discovers a skincare product they'll use for years. At Costco, you have a captive audience of thousands of shoppers every week - and a proven product to sell.

MDX Global is hiring high-energy Brand Ambassadors to represent Sebamed skincare at Costco roadshows across the country. If you can engage strangers, build trust fast, and close sales - we want to hear from you.

Costco locations nationwide . Competitive hourly + commission . Flexible scheduling

Why This Role Stands Out

Costco roadshows aren't typical retail demos. You're working one of the highest-traffic retail environments in the country, with a loyal customer base that buys when they're convinced. Top performers here earn significantly more through commission - and build a track record that opens doors across the demo and direct sales industry.

  • Competitive hourly base pay - plus uncapped commission on every kit you sell
  • Paid product training so you become the expert in the room
  • Work inside Costco locations - no outdoor events or uncertain venues
  • Flexible scheduling to fit your availability
  • Health, dental, vision, and life insurance available for eligible employees
  • Advancement opportunities within MDX Global's growing roadshow operation

What You'll Do

This is a live demonstration and direct sales role. Your shift runs from setup to breakdown, and your performance is measured by results.

  • Set up and maintain a professional, visually appealing demo station inside Costco
  • Actively engage passing shoppers - starting conversations, not waiting for them
  • Demonstrate Sebamed products, educate customers on benefits, and drive purchases
  • Track daily sales figures and maintain accurate inventory
  • Meet or exceed daily unit benchmarks (strong performers consistently do)
  • Break down and store your station at close of shift

Who We're Looking For

Background in beauty or skincare is a bonus - but attitude and sales ability are what we actually hire for. Our best reps come from retail, hospitality, fitness, and direct sales backgrounds.

  • You're comfortable approaching and engaging strangers - it energizes you, not drains you
  • You've worked in a performance-based or commission role before and you thrived
  • You're self-directed: no one needs to tell you to stay busy or keep engaging
  • You present yourself professionally and can represent a premium skincare brand confidently
  • You can stand and stay active for full shifts (4–11 hours) and handle light lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Prior experience in retail, live demos, direct sales, or brand ambassador work is strongly preferred

About Sebamed

Sebamed is a clinically developed, dermatologist-trusted German skincare brand with decades of proven results. It's a product that sells itself to informed customers - your job is to inform them. Customers who try it come back for more, which means your demos drive real, repeat business for Costco and for you.

How to Apply

Apply through Indeed or send your resume directly to our hiring team. Include any sales metrics or production numbers from previous roles - we read them. Interviews move quickly for strong candidates.
