Job description

Job Title: Lab Technician / Batch Formulation Associate
Location: Skillman, NJ (4 days/week) & Summit, NJ (1 day/week) – transitioning to Summit, NJ (5 days/week from June)
Work Hours: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (Monday–Friday)
Job Type: Onsite Contract (White Collar)

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Lab Technician / Batch Formulation Associate to support batch preparation, formulation development, and quality evaluation of consumer health and cosmetic products. The ideal candidate will have hands-on laboratory experience, strong documentation skills, and exposure to cosmetic or personal care product development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Batch Preparation & Formulation
  • Prepare and formulate batches of consumer health and cosmetic products as per established protocols
  • Conduct lab-scale experiments and formulation trials to optimize product performance and stability
  • Documentation & Compliance
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of formulations, batch processes, and test results
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, SOPs, and internal quality policies
  • Support audit readiness by maintaining organized and traceable documentation
  • Quality Control
  • Monitor batch quality during preparation and testing phases
  • Partner with Quality Assurance teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve formulation or process issues
  • Collaboration
  • Work cross-functionally with R&D, QA, and production teams
  • Contribute to process improvements and lab efficiency initiatives
  • Research & Development Support
  • Assist in new product development and reformulation projects
  • Analyze market trends and support innovation efforts in consumer health/cosmetics

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field
  • Hands-on lab experience in formulation or batch preparation
  • Experience with cosmetic or personal care products (highly preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel – intermediate level)
  • Experience maintaining lab notebooks and documentation systems
  • Familiarity with lab equipment and standard laboratory practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in consumer health, skincare, or cosmetic R&D environments
  • Knowledge of formulation stability, emulsions, and ingredient compatibility
  • Exposure to GMP or regulated environments
