About the role
The Account Manager is responsible for the strategic growth, retention, and long-term success of an assigned portfolio of professional skincare accounts. Serving as the primary business consultant and trusted advisor, this role partners with business owners and key decision-makers to develop customized business strategies that drive revenue growth, product adoption, and customer success. Through consultative selling, Joint Business Planning (JBPs), Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), education, and data-driven account management, the Account Manager owns the customer lifecycle from onboarding through long-term partnership. The role collaborates with Sales, Education, Marketing, Customer Success, Product Development, Finance, and Operations to deliver an exceptional customer experience and support successful execution of commercial initiatives. *This role is a hybrid role working onsite at our corporate office in San Ramon Tuesdays - Thursdays and remotely Mondays and Fridays. Also note: this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Candidates must have authorization to work in the US without current or future sponsorship.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Account Management (45%)
  • Manage the complete customer lifecycle for an assigned portfolio of strategic accounts
  • Develop and execute Joint Business Plans (JBPs) aligned with customer objectives
  • Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) using business analytics, sales trends, and growth opportunities
  • Analyze CRM, Power BI, reorder cadence, product adoption, and purchasing trends
  • Build strong relationships with business owners, providers, practice managers, and staff
  • Develop strategic growth plans that improve retention, revenue, and education engagement
  • Support strategic and multi-location accounts
  • Maintain accurate CRM documentation and account plans

Customer Success, Education & Business Consulting (20%)
  • Deliver virtual and in-person education, product knowledge, treatment protocol training, and business consultations
  • Lead structured 30-, 60-, and 90-day onboarding
  • Recommend education pathways and certifications
  • Coach retail strategy, merchandising, treatment planning, and product positioning
  • Support successful implementation of new product launches

Sales Growth & Territory Development (15%)
  • Drive territory revenue through consultative selling and account planning
  • Identify whitespace opportunities and expand product adoption
  • Re-engage inactive accounts
  • Monitor competitive activity and market trends
  • Develop territory call plans and business priorities

Customer Engagement (10%)
  • Plan and facilitate customer appreciation events, educational workshops, networking dinners, launch events, and open houses
  • Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and educational meetings

Cross-Functional Collaboration (10%)
  • Partner with internal teams to resolve customer needs.
  • Communicate customer feedback and market insights.
  • Support execution of commercial initiatives.
  • Partner with Marketing and Education to enhance customer engagement

Requirements & Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred
  • Certifications: Licensed Esthetician preferred
  • Experience: 5+ years of account management, consultative sales, business development, or customer success experience within the professional skincare, aesthetics, beauty, or medical industries
  • Experience managing strategic customer relationships
  • Experience developing Joint Business Plans (JBPs) and conducting Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs)
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to interpret sales reports and business analytics
  • Excellent presentation, communication, relationship management, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms, Microsoft Office, and business reporting tools
  • Ability to travel based on business needs; estimated 40-50%
