Job description

Senior Demand Planner

Department: Supply Chain

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: Oak Brook, IL

Compensation: $85,000 - $108,000 / year

Description

Reliable Safety and Flow Corporation is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Demand Planner to join our Supply Chain team. The Sr. Demand Planner will be responsible for forecasting customer demand, optimizing inventory levels, and supporting sales, inventory, and operations planning (SIOP) within the pipe, valve, and fittings (PVF) industry. This role requires a strong understanding of industrial distribution, market trends, and supply chain dynamics to ensure product availability, minimize stockouts, and reduce excess inventory.

How You Will Help
  • Ownership and responsibility for a key set of accounts. Requires close collaboration with customers
  • Coordination of planning activities for large projects and ensuring successful outcomes:
    • Lead end-to-end planning for demand-driven projects, defining scope, milestones, deliverables, and timelines, and tracking progress against plans to ensure on-time, on-target execution.
    • Maintain project documentation, schedules, and status reporting, providing clear and timely updates to stakeholders on project health, dependencies, and key decisions.
  • Ownership in the SIOP process by providing guidance on customer needs (from your key accounts), large projects you own, and overall channel intelligence from your Commercial partners
  • Develop, maintain, and update demand forecasts using historical sales, market trends, and customer insights.
  • Analyze demand patterns and variances to support decision-making in procurement, inventory, and sales planning.
  • Collaborate closely with Commercial, Procurement, Operations, and Finance teams to align forecasts with strategic objectives.
  • Partner with Supply Planning team to ensure lead-time reliability and mitigate supply risks.
  • Maintain accurate data in ERP and forecasting systems to support planning and reporting.
  • Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as forecast accuracy, service levels, inventory turns, and fill rates.
  • Identify and escalates risks related to demand variability, project-driven requirements, and market changes.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to forecasting and inventory management.
What You Will Bring Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Distribution, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain management; PVF or industrial distribution industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems and forecasting software required.
Competencies
  • Demonstrated successful collaboration directly with customers in a demand planning capacity.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and the ability to translate data insights into actionable supply chain strategies.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and management of large datasets; familiarity with Power BI or other data visualization tools.
  • Working knowledge of supply chain principles, inventory management, and procurement processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Strong team player with collaborative mindset and a commitment to fostering cross-functional partnerships
  • Self-motivated with the ability to independently manage multiple priorities and drive results under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience with Blue Yonder (JDA) demand planning solutions.
  • APICS CSCP, CPIM, or other supply chain certifications.
Compensation

The base salary range for this position is $85,000.00 - $108,000.00 USD annually*.
