Unarmed Security Officer - DTLA / Skid Row Area
Treston Security Services is currently hiring professional and dependable Unarmed Security Officers for a property located in the Downtown Los Angeles (DTLA) / Skid Row area. This position requires officers who are alert, professional, compassionate, and capable of working in a challenging urban environment.

This site involves regular interaction with the public, including individuals experiencing homelessness and mental health crises. We are looking for officers who can maintain professionalism, strong situational awareness, and effective communication skills while ensuring the safety of tenants, staff, and visitors.

Position Details
  • Position: Unarmed Security Officer
  • Location: DTLA / Skid Row Area
  • Pay Rate: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour (DOE)
  • Schedules Available:
    • 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM
    • 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM
    • 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM
  • Schedule: Monday - Sunday
  • Parking: On-site parking provided
  • Uniform: Provided by company

Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct hourly foot patrols throughout the property
  • Monitor entrances, common areas, and surrounding exterior areas
  • Check in visitors, vendors, and authorized personnel
  • Maintain access control and document activity as required
  • Professionally handle interactions involving transients and individuals experiencing mental health issues
  • De-escalate situations when appropriate and notify management or emergency services as needed
  • Complete Daily Activity Reports (DARs) and incident reports
  • Maintain a professional and visible security presence at all times

Qualifications
  • Valid California Guard Card (required)
  • Prior security experience preferred
  • Experience working in DTLA, Skid Row, shelters, residential, or high-activity environments is a plus
  • Strong communication and de-escalation skills
  • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
  • Must be reliable, observant, and able to work independently
  • Comfortable conducting prolonged foot patrols and working outdoors when necessary
