Mountain Sales Assistant Manager

Mountain Sales | Full-Time Year-Round

Position Snapshot

The Mountain Sales Assistant Manager partners with the Mountain Sales Manager to oversee daily operations across Telluride Ski & Golf's Mountain Sales locations. This leadership role supports team development, guest service, sales performance, and operational efficiency while helping deliver an exceptional guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support daily Mountain Sales operations, staffing, scheduling, and workflow.
  • Lead, coach, train, and develop Mountain Sales team members while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Support sales initiatives, revenue goals, product launches, promotions, and resort access programs.
  • Monitor daily sales activity, financial reconciliation, inventory, and operational reporting.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex guest concerns and service recovery opportunities.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of resort products, pricing, season passes, lift tickets, partnerships, and fulfillment procedures.
  • Support POS, ticketing, e-commerce, and other operational systems and troubleshoot issues as needed.
  • Collaborate with Accounting, IT, Mountain Operations, Ski & Snowboard School, Human Resources, Marketing, Risk Management, Security, and other resort departments.
  • Promote Telluride Ski & Golf sustainability initiatives and uphold company policies, the Colorado Ski Safety Act, and Skier Responsibility Code.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum three years of customer service, hospitality, retail, tourism, reservations, or resort operations experience.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience required.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with cash handling, financial reconciliation, and point-of-sale systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn resort-specific technology and systems.
  • Knowledge of Telluride Ski Resort products, services, and the surrounding area preferred.
  • Passion for skiing, snowboarding, and the mountain environment preferred.

Work Schedule

  • Full-Time Year-Round position.
  • Typical shifts are approximately 7:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and include a lunch and ski break.
  • Five-day work week with two consecutive days off, subject to operational needs.
  • This position requires flexibility to work weekends, holidays, evenings, and other peak business periods to support resort operations and guest demand.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Frequent use of computers, point-of-sale equipment, and office equipment.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor mountain environments and varying weather conditions.
  • Visual abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
