Join our dynamic team as a Seasonal Assistant Rink Manager and play a pivitol role in maintaining a fun, safe, and memorable experience for our community. This position offers an exciting opportunity to assist in lead rink operations and ensure smooth daily activities at our outdoor or indoor skating facilities.
General Purpose
Assists with the daily operation of the rink during the seasonal period. Supports staff, programs, rentals, customer service, facility operations, and special events while helping maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.
Essential Duties:
  • Assist with daily rink operations and opening/closing procedures.
  • Supervise and support seasonal rink staff and rink guards.
  • Assist with scheduling, rentals, programs, leagues, and special events.
  • Provide friendly and professional customer service.
  • Monitor facility cleanliness, safety, and equipment.
  • Address routine patron concerns and report issues to the Rink Manager.
  • Assist with cash handling, inventory, and basic administrative duties.
  • Learn how to use daily equipment such as the Zamboni, ice edger, power tools and other as needed.
  • Follow all department policies, safety procedures, and emergency protocols.
  • Performs other duties as requested
  • This is a safety sensitive position

Peripheral Duties
Performs a variety of miscellaneous duties including clerical, custodial, painting, and departmental errands.
Special Requirements
  • Valid state driver's license
  • Ability to drive and operate a surface cleaning machine.
  • Knowledge and ability to use basic computer software, ability to operate a cash register
  • Ability to demonstrate professional public relations skills, and have effective interpersonal and communication skills

Tools and Equipment Used
Vacuum pump, leaf blower, cleaning surface machine, scoreboard controller, telephone, calculator, other items that would normally be associated with the operation of a municipal roller rink.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, sit, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to use hand to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include closed vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum age of 18 or older
  • High school diploma or in process of obtaining diploma.
  • Previous recreation, customer service, rink, or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
  • Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills.
  • CPR (adult-child-infant) Certification by a nationally accredited organization or willing to obtain 30 days after hire.
  • AED Certification by a nationally accredited organization.
  • First Aid Certification by a nationally accredited organization. or willing to obtain 30 days after hire
