Job Title: Project Manager - Energy Storage Systems - ESS

The Mission
The Project Manager - ESS, you are the primary engine behind the successful execution of our energy storage contracts. You will take the baton from the sales team and carry it all the way through manufacturing, delivery, and site commissioning. The Project Manager will be responsible for delivering a high-quality and complex technical asset on time, within budget, and in strict adherence to the commercial terms of the contract. The role requires a focus on following established processes and identifying shortcomings of the process for constant project execution improvement to ensure that projects are executed correctly. This will ensure that the customer receives their product as designed while maintaining costs and ensuring that all contractual milestones are met.

Core Responsibilities

- Lead the end-end lifecycle of BESS projects as the customer's main point of contact and escalation point.

- Contract Execution - review key contract sections relating to project delivery, schedules and commissioning activities.

- Oversee the full project cycle from factory floor to project site, managing complex logistics and ensuring all components arrive ready for deployment.

- Track project deliverables and ensure that the customer receives all necessary information to execute their project.

- Develop and maintain the project schedule.

- Lead the negotiation on change orders, by preparing, issuing, and ensuring that the change order has been executed before the work commences.

- Maintain the project's margin. Track the Division of Responsibility (DOR) to prevent scope creep and deliver the equipment as contractually agreed to.

- Track costs against budget and be able to present changes to leadership.

- Coordinate with field technicians, subcontractors, and the customer's EPC to ensure the system is installed to specification.

- Lead a project team consisting of a Project Engineer, Commissioning Manager, and Logistics Manager, to ensure that milestones are achieved without any commercial penalties.

- Communicate delays or issues promptly to the customer. Use creative problem solving to come up with solutions to mitigate impacts on project.

- Provide internal reporting and be the internal project champion, notifying leadership about issues and potential delays in a timely manner.

- Risk Management & Reporting: Maintain a project risk register covering technical, logistical, and any regulatory or technical changes.

Qualifications:

Education:Bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical/mechanical), construction management, business, or a related field.

Experience:3+ years in project management, specifically within the renewable energy, power generation, or heavy industrial manufacturing sectors.

Technical Literacy:Understand the different components of an Energy Storage System and ability to read technical documentation such as SLD (Single Line Diagram).

Contractual Fluency:Ability to dive into a Master Supply Agreement (MSA) and identify exactly where our liability ends and the customers begins.

Certifications:PMP (Project Management Professional) is highly preferred; experience with Procore, Primavera P6, or Microsoft Project is essential.
