POSITION SUMMARYย ย 

The Operations Supervisorย is responsible forย supervising, labor management, and planning of inbound, outbound, Product slotting and customer communication activitiesย daily, including labor scheduling, spaceย utilization,ย equipmentย andย manpower.ย Peopleย management responsibilities include hiring and training,ย planningย and assigning daily work, conducting performance appraisals, addressing performanceย issuesย and resolving problems.ย ย Under the direction of the Operations Manager or Distribution Center Manager, the Supervisorย is responsible forย supervising the receiving,ย warehousingย and shipping ofย productsย in a manner consistent with company service and costย objectives.ย 

As part of the DSV team, Associates are expected to meet companyย objectivesย in the areas of performance, safety, and quality.ย ย ย Associates are expected toย comply withย all corporate and site-specific policies.ย 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESย ย 

  • Conducts staff meetings to review daily/weekly work activities, plan andย assureย continuous improvement.ย 

  • Effectively keeps senior management and client representatives informed of critical issues that affect the operationsย 

  • Ensures the development of systems and procedures for managing operations, equipment, and products in a safe and profitable mannerย in accordance withย company policies, guidelines, and procedures.ย ย Manages operations to meetย prescribedย productivity and service goals.ย ย Compliesย with terms outlined inย the site'sย operating agreement with the client.ย 

  • Implements and reportsย on-goingย cost savings measures. Provides ideas and suggestions for more efficient operations.ย 

  • Meets all client specified KPI'sย andย compliesย withย Quality system requirements.ย 

  • Manages the operations to achieve prescribed objectives.ย ย Applies sound communication and motivational techniques, create programs toย fairly and equitably supervise, counsel, and (where needed) discipline team members.ย ย Provides direction and support toย Humanย Resources.ย ย Assistsย in creating programs for hiring, training, and professional development.ย ย Participates in performance evaluationย systemย for recommending promotions, wage increases, and other HR activities.ย
