What are Simulation Managers?

Simulation Managers are professionals responsible for overseeing the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of simulation-based training and educational programs. They often work in fields such as healthcare, aviation, or engineering, managing simulation labs, coordinating scenarios, and ensuring equipment and technology are maintained. Their duties include supervising staff, developing curricula, and ensuring that simulation activities meet organizational and accreditation standards. Simulation Managers play a key role in enhancing training outcomes by providing realistic and effective learning experiences.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Simulation Manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Simulation Manager, you need expertise in simulation-based training, project management, and a relevant degree such as in healthcare, engineering, or education. Familiarity with simulation software (e.g., Laerdal, CAE), audiovisual systems, and potentially certifications like Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) is important. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills help in coordinating teams and delivering effective training experiences. These skills ensure the successful implementation and management of simulation programs that enhance learning outcomes and operational efficiency.

How does a Simulation Manager typically collaborate with cross-functional teams in a project environment?

Simulation Managers often work closely with engineering, design, and project management teams to ensure that simulation models accurately reflect real-world scenarios. They facilitate regular meetings to gather requirements, validate data inputs, and communicate simulation results to stakeholders. Effective collaboration involves translating technical findings into actionable insights for non-technical team members, helping guide decision-making throughout the project lifecycle. This role requires strong communication skills and a proactive approach to ensure alignment across all involved departments.

Job Description
At General Motors, our product teams are redefining mobility. Through a human-centered design process, we create vehicles and experiences that are designed not just to be seen, but to be felt. We're turning today's impossible into tomorrow's standard -from breakthrough hardware and battery systems to intuitive design, intelligent software, and next-generation safety and entertainment features.
Every day, our products move millions of people as we aim to make driving safer, smarter, and more connected, shaping the future of transportation on a global scale.
In a rapidly-evolving industry like automotive, the need for seamless hardware/software integration is paramount. As a GVHE Hardware Simulation Architect, you have the unique opportunity to shape GM's future by leading how hardware subsystems integrate with the vehicle and its software. • Engage in focused pilots that are tightly wired into TFRP, MBSE, and Virtual Validation processes and influence GVDP PAR/VBOR
  • Integrate Hardware via CoSIM into the Systems Engineering and Virtual Validation backbone.
  • Lead strategies that balance system co-simulation concepts, SimBOM, TFRP/VFRP, ETM, GVDP elements.
  • Ensure CoSIM assets, runs, and metrics are reflecting hardware performance. decisions, eliminating the need for physical demos.
  • Achieve measurable outputs including the virtualization of test cases, earlier defect detection, reduction in HIL/vehicle & bench usage in the pilot domains, and credible correlation between CoSIM and physical test.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Automotive, or related Engineering discipline
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in product development, systems engineering, or work related to software/hardware connectivity.
  • Technical knowledge of GVHE components and vehicle-level integration
