Assistant or Associate Clinical Professor - Simulation Faculty

Job Summary
The Simulation Education Specialist in accordance with the mission, core values, and purposes of the College of Nursing and Health Professions (CNHP) and Drexel University is responsible for the supporting and collaborating with the Assistant Dean, Simulation and Innovation, to infuse experiential learning throughout the undergraduate and graduate curriculum. The priority role for this position is to collaborate with faculty in creating, implementing and evaluating substantive experiential learning experiences utilizing simulation to meet the outcomes of the specific professional role.
Essential Functions
  • Teaching Load: Incorporate direct simulation teaching as part of the workload effort at the discretion of the Assistant Dean, Simulation and Innovation in conjunction with the Dean.
  • Lead curriculum innovation and integration with simulation-based learning (online and in person)
  • Provide and guide faculty to match methods and modalities to meet learning objectives
  • Train and coach faculty to utilize Debriefing (Debriefing with Good Judgment) to promote the experiential learning process
  • Model Good Judgment in faculty interactions and simulations
  • Design and lead faculty development sessions, including clinical adjunct faculty
  • Model giving and receiving Feedback with faculty
  • Design and collaborate on implementing innovative programs
  • Direct facilitation and teaching in simulation
  • Support authorship including presentations of simulation-based education innovations
  • Implement best practices in simulation-based education including but not limited to INASCL Standards
  • Attend faculty meetings as needed
  • Collaborate with faculty and simulation operation specialists to development and implement simulation across the curriculum
  • Lead and mentor simulation operation specialists in simulation planning and implementation
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of a Master's Degree in Nursing, Health Professions, or related field or the equivalent combination of education and work experience. (Please review the Equivalency Chart for additional information.)
  • Minimum of 2+ years of applicable experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with undergraduate and graduate curriculum across the College of Nursing and Health Professions, and the INACSCL Healthcare Simulation Standards of Best Practices.
  • Experience with teaching large class sizes
  • Prior experience with simulation-based education
  • Demonstrated skills in leading multidisciplinary teams within academic and/or professional settings.
