Facility Manager - Scrap Metal Recycling Facility
Location: North Chili, NY

Position Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Facility Manager to lead daily operations, maintenance, safety, and production at a high-volume scrap metal recycling facility. This role oversees ferrous processing operations, equipment reliability, employee development, regulatory compliance, and overall facility performance.

Key Responsibilities
   Manage daily ferrous recycling operations, including receiving, grading, processing, inventory control, and outbound shipments.
   Oversee shredder operations, maintenance activities, equipment repairs, and capital improvement projects.
   Maximize production, reduce downtime, and improve operational efficiency.
   Supervise operations, maintenance, shipping, scale, and yard personnel.
   Monitor production metrics, maintenance costs, downtime, and recovery performance.
   Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, DOT, and company safety standards.
   Coordinate with transportation, purchasing, and commercial teams to optimize material flow and profitability.
   Lead employee training, safety initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications 
   5+ years of management experience in scrap recycling, steel, manufacturing, or heavy industrial operations.
   Strong knowledge of ferrous metals, grading, processing, and material handling operations.
   Experience managing industrial maintenance programs and heavy equipment fleets.
   Strong mechanical aptitude with hydraulic, electrical, diesel, and industrial processing systems.
   Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
   Ability to work in both office and outdoor industrial environments.
