Job description

Driver

Reports To: General Manager/Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Summary: Responsible for operating and delivering cars, vans, trucks, or other vehicles as instructed by Manager/supervisor. Follows Genesis Business Management, FL LLC policy and state guidelines in regards to operations of vehicles, customer service, and safety.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. (Other duties may be assigned).

  • Drives various size vehicles locally or out of area as needed, following all rules of the road.
  • Checking in new vehicles, inspecting for body damage, and following check in procedures.
  • Drives various size vehicles to and from car wash and maintenance areas and follows safety instructions and procedures.
  • Responsible for not talking on phones, texting, or using earpieces while driving vehicle.
  • Keeps vehicle in good condition when not in use by turning off air conditioning and lights.
  • Verifies and records mileage, car category, and vehicle identification number.
  • Responsible for not eating or smoking inside any vehicle and/or shuttle van. Employees may only drink water in the vehicle and/or shuttle van.
  • Perform duties in safe manner following Genesis Business Management LLC safety guidelines.
  • Place items left behind in vehicles in lost and found.
  • Maintain Genesis Business Management FL LLC standards for appearance and safety by following dress code, PPE, and uniform policy.
  • Provide excellent customer service, good team work, and professional demeanor.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Language Ability: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Math Ability: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of America money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Education/Experience: Prior driving experience helpful.

Certifications/Licenses: Valid Driver's License - must meet insurance underwriting requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities: Communication skills, Customer service skills, Time management skills

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to drive, stand, walk, sit, use hands, talk, and hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions. While performing the duties of these jobs, the employee is occasionally working or near moving mechanical parts and working around fumes or airborne particles, driving, and pumping gasoline. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
