Information Technology Technician
Department: IT
Reports to: Controller
Exempt/Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt (Hourly)

PRIMARY PURPOSE

The Information Technology Technician is responsible for delivering exceptional performance in their role, embodying Ranch core values, and upholding the standards set for Forbes Five-Star properties. This role offers support for all onsite information technology needs and ensures the quality, security and delivery of information technology systems and services to both the property and its guests. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Install and maintain computer hardware, software and networks.
  • Manage and maintain hardware and software; provide training and consultation when necessary.
  • Make recommendations about future planning and development of resources.
  • Test, implement and monitor servers including database, email, file/print, and back up servers and their associated hardware and software.
  • Assist management and staff with the daily functions of IT hardware & software. Address guest impact issues immediately.
  • Assist in designing and performing sever and security audit, systems backup procedures, and other recovery processes in accordance with the company disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
  • Maintain the company LAN and email servers and wireless networks from a hardware and software perspective.
  • Act as the first responder to onsite technology incident and request; troubleshoot and resolve hardware, connection, printer and software issues reported to the Help Desk. Escalate requests to the appropriate party, as needed. Replace or repair defective parts and equipment.
  • Assist in constructing technology guidelines and safeguards of the company assets.
  • Uphold the IT guidelines for employees; dictate proper use of computers, peripheral devices, telephones, intranet/internet and all records centers.
  • Act as the prime point of contact in securing technology equipment for the company.
  • Maintain telecommunications and network resources to optimize workforce efficiency.
  • Support and troubleshoot any issues with SMS, Sage 100, Delphi and Synexys.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology, system Administration or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in network or systems administration.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems including Windows Server 2008, Windows 7 and Windows XP, Microsoft Office 2007 and 2010, and Office 365.
  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts and application.
  • Knowledgeable about wireless technologies.
  • Experience administering a Microsoft exchange environment.
  • Experience in network security and best practices.
  • Previous hotel experience desired and preferred.
  • Experience with payment technologies, mobile payments, POS encryption banking software system (CC processing) and PCI compliance rules.
  • Support and troubleshoot any issues with Oracle Opera, Oracle Simphony, Oracle Payments, OpenTable, Book4Time, Alice and Dayforce.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Committed, patient and positive person with strong work ethic.
  • Highly motivated with excellent communication skills; ability to properly communicate instruction and troubleshooting for employees or guests who may have concerns about the use of technology, equipment and software.
  • A goal-oriented team player able to work and serve all departments at The Ranch to assure financial and service goals are achieved.
  • A creative problem solver with the ability to think on their feet and work with minimum supervision.
