Job description

The Import/Export Specialist is responsible for coordinating international shipments and ensuring compliance with global trade regulations for wireless and IoT device configuration operations. This role manages import/export documentation, customs compliance, device shipping logistics, and coordination with carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal operational teams.

The specialist supports the movement of configured wireless devices, SIM-enabled equipment, accessories, and related materials across global markets while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with applicable trade and regulatory requirements.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

Import/Export Operations

• Coordinate domestic and international shipments of wireless and IoT devices, components, SIM cards, and

accessories

• Prepare and review shipping documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates

of origin, and customs declarations

• Ensure import/export compliance with U.S. and international trade regulations, customs requirements, and company

policies

• Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, and warehouse partners to ensure timely shipment

delivery and customs clearance

• Monitor shipment status, proactively resolve delays, and communicate updates to internal stakeholders and

customers

• Manage Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications and maintain accurate import/export records

• Support temporary imports, returns, repairs, and international device replacement logistics as needed

• Ensure proper labeling, serialization, and export documentation for configured wireless devices

Wireless Device Configuration Support

• Collaborate with Operations and Device Configuration teams to align shipping schedules with production and

customer delivery timelines

• Verify shipment accuracy for configured devices, customer-specific configurations, and serialized inventory

• Support global deployment projects and customer onboarding activities

• Coordinate international movement of test devices, demo equipment, and engineering samples

Compliance & Quality Responsibilities

• Maintain compliance with trade regulations, export controls, sanctions programs, and customs requirements

• Assist with audits related to import/export compliance, shipping records, and operational processes

• Maintain accurate documentation and records retention in accordance with company and regulatory requirements

• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to shipping accuracy, cost reduction, and operational efficiency

• Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions for shipment discrepancies or compliance issues

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications

•Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, International Business, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field preferred

•2–5 years of experience in import/export operations, logistics, supply chain, or international shipping

•Experience supporting electronics, wireless devices, IoT hardware, or technical products preferred

•Knowledge of international shipping documentation, customs procedures, Incoterms, and HTS classifications

•Familiarity with export compliance regulations and trade documentation requirements

•Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

•Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment

•Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

Preferred Qualifications

•Experience working with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and global carriers

•Knowledge of wireless devices, SIM provisioning, or electronics manufacturing environments

•Experience with ERP, WMS, or logistics management systems

•Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or related trade certification preferred

•Familiarity with ISO quality systems or regulated operational environments
