Who We Are

Silver Pines is a small, intimate detox and residential treatment center nestled just south of the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania. At our treatment centers, we understand that substance use disorder affects the entire person, so we treat each client by integrating therapies that address their physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual needs.

Position Summary

The Medical Assistant is responsible for working with our licensed nursing staff to ensure the safety and wellbeing of clients is maintained and to provide quality client care while showing respect and dignity

Relationships and Contacts

Within the organization:ย  Establish and maintain productive working relationships with peers and accounting team members throughout Silver Pines and affiliated facilities.

Outside the organization: Establish and maintain productive working relationships with third party vendors, as necessary.

Position Responsibilities

  1. Assist with client intake upon admission
  2. Obtain Breathalyzer and UDS on intake and as per protocol for client monitoring
  3. Assist with body and clothing search
  4. Provide basic client care assisting with Activities of daily living, when necessary,
  5. Monitor and communicate any change in client condition to nursing staff
  6. Support the emotional needs of clients throughout treatment
  7. Locate detox clients for provider appointments and regular assessments every fourย hours and as needed
  8. Obtain vital signs every four hours and as needed for documentation and reportย findings
  9. Obtain client weight
  10. Complete detox accountability and provide support as per protocol throughout shiftย when needed
  11. Administer oral medication and intradermal/subcutaneous/intramuscular
  12. injections within their scope of practice
  13. Perform blood glucose testing (FSBS)
  14. Perform Venipuncture Procedure
  15. Provide Client education
  16. Perform Wound Care
  17. Assist with keeping rooms clean and tidy and packing belongings for step down orย discharge
  18. Assist with cleaning rooms and bathrooms upon client transfer
  19. New client engagement
  20. Pre-Certification calls

Minimum Requirements

  • Current Medical Assistant Certificationย 
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent attendance
  • Ability to multitask
  • CPR certified
  • Positive Attitude

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to communicate with peers/general public, clients and/or vendors
  • Tolerant to various noise levels: noise level in the work environment varies โ€“ may be very quiet to moderate
  • Job performance will require the ability to move throughout the building as well as sit or remain stationary for extended periods of time
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to talk or hear, sit, stand, walk, reach, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch
