Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Salary Range: $20 - $24 per hour (based on experience)
Work Location: Rotating between Frederick, MD, Urbana, MD, and Mt. Airy, MD

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support to OB/GYN physicians, providers, and clinical staff. This role is ideal for a dependable, patient-focused Medical Assistant with strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

The Medical Assistant will support patient care by preparing patients for exams, taking vital signs, documenting medical history, assisting with procedures, collecting specimens, administering injections, drawing blood, maintaining exam rooms, and ensuring patients receive compassionate, confidential, and professional care.

Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Support
  • Prepare patients for exams, take vital signs, and document medical history.
  • Assist providers with exams, procedures, injections, blood draws, and specimen collection.
  • Perform basic lab tasks and support patient education as directed.
  • Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and clear communication of care instructions.
Documentation and Patient Information
  • Maintain accurate and timely records in the electronic health system.
  • Update patient information and medical history as needed.
  • Protect patient confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
Exam Room, Equipment, and Supply Management
  • Clean, stock, and prepare exam rooms before and after visits.
  • Sterilize instruments and follow infection control and safety protocols.
  • Monitor and maintain clinical supplies and equipment.
Administrative and Team Support
  • Support patient flow, scheduling, and basic front desk tasks as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and staff.
  • Assist with additional duties to support clinic operations.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate degree or diploma in Medical Assisting or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential required.
  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
  • Experience taking vital signs, including manual blood pressure.
  • Experience administering injections, drawing blood, collecting specimens, and performing basic lab tests.
  • Knowledge of sterilization processes and clinical safety standards.
  • Proficiency with electronic health record systems.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate with empathy, patience, and professionalism.
  • Ability to handle unexpected situations calmly and resolve patient concerns or conflicts effectively.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with healthcare privacy requirements.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to travel or work overtime occasionally based on division needs.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications
  • OB/GYN Medical Assistant experience.
