The main difference is that a Signer primarily facilitates the signing process of documents, while a Notary Public is an official authorized to verify identities and notarize documents. Notaries often serve as Signers but also have additional legal responsibilities and credentials. Understanding these roles helps clarify their distinct functions in legal and financial transactions.

Is it hard to become a signing agent?

Becoming a signing agent involves completing a training course, passing a background check, and obtaining certification or licensing depending on the state. The process is straightforward but requires attention to detail, knowledge of loan documents, and good customer service skills. Many find it accessible with proper preparation and training resources.
