Job description

Signal is seeking a communications director to be a trusted partner for our Signal Health client portfolio. You'll create integrated public affairs campaigns that influence decision-makers and advance clients' objectives in health care and other regulated sectors. If you possess razor-sharp communication skills, an inherent curiosity, a bold mindset, and a proven track record in leading PR and public affairs campaigns for public health and health care clients, we invite you to apply.
What You'll Do:
  • Lead the development, implementation, and execution of communication strategies
  • Lead regular interaction with journalists in a variety of U.S. and international markets
  • Conduct routine senior-level client contact, and team management
  • Excel at research and writing
  • Manage development and production of materials to support campaigns across all channels

The Model Candidate:
  • You are a bright, engaging, and proactive leader who thrives on collaborating with others and inspiring teams.
  • You don't just wait for direction; you anticipate needs, seek out innovative solutions, and take initiative.
  • You are adept at flawlessly executing complex projects while identifying opportunities for professional growth and team development.

Qualifications:
  • Strong media relations skills: reporter relationships across the spectrum, pitching experience, booking and staffing interviews, developing prep materials
  • Sharp writing and editing skills: the ability to write for different audiences/client voices, experience writing social media content and press materials, ability to translate complex policy into sharp messaging
  • Strategic planning and project management: developing rollout plans, project timelines, and tracking deliverables
  • Have 7+ years of PR agency, in-house, Capitol Hill, or government communications experience

We believe in supporting our team and offer a generous salary and benefits package. The salary range for this role is $90,000 - $120,000.
