Smart Road Technology (SRT), a division of CMES, Inc., is seeking an experienced and motivated
Traffic Signal Foreman to lead field crews in the installation, maintenance, and repair of traffic signal and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) infrastructure. This role is responsible for overseeing daily field operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications, GDOT standards, and company expectations.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong knowledge of roadway electrical systems, traffic signal construction, crew coordination, and jobsite safety.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Crew Management
- ย Supervise and coordinate daily activities of field crewsย
- ย Plan work schedules, assign tasks, and monitor productivityย
- ย Lead crews in a professional, safety-focused mannerย
- ย Provide mentorship and on-the-job training to team membersย
- ย Maintain strong communication with project management and field personnelย
Project Execution
- ย Oversee installation, maintenance, and repair of traffic signal systems and ITS infrastructureย
- ย Read and interpret project plans, blueprints, and specificationsย
- ย Ensure all work is completed according to project requirements and quality standardsย
- ย Coordinate equipment, materials, and labor needs for daily operationsย
- ย Monitor project progress and assist with resolving field issuesย
Safety & Compliance
- ย Enforce company safety policies and traffic control standardsย
- ย Conduct toolbox talks and safety meetingsย
- ย Ensure crews properly utilize PPE and follow OSHA/GDOT regulationsย
- ย Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite environmentย
Communication & Coordination
- ย Serve as liaison between field crews, project managers, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractorsย
- ย Communicate daily production updates, delays, and jobsite needsย
- ย Support project documentation and reporting requirementsย
Qualifications
- ย 5+ years of traffic signal, ITS, or roadway construction experienceย
- ย Proven leadership experience managing field crewsย
- ย Strong understanding of traffic signal systems, roadway electrical infrastructure, and construction practicesย
- ย Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specificationsย
- ย Strong problem-solving and organizational skillsย
- ย Experience working on DOT or municipal roadway projects preferredย
Requirements
- ย Valid driverโs license required (CDL preferred)ย
- ย IMSA Certification Level II or higher preferredย
- ย Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditionsย
- ย Ability to lift materials, operate equipment, and perform physical field duties as neededย
- ย Willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights or weekends when requiredย
