MOT FOREMAN

M.T. Laney Co. Inc. is an established successful construction firm located in Eldersburg, MD.  We are searching for an experienced, committed, career-minded MOT Manager to be part of our growing team in the Baltimore/Washington Metropolitan area.

The ideal candidate will be a team player who is highly motivated with a strong work ethic and desires to be part of a skilled construction team.

  RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervises and maintains traffic within project limits and develops a plan for traffic control
  • Furnishes, installs and maintains traffic control and safety devices
  • Provides for the safe movement of traffic as specified by project plans
  • Supervises and coordinates flaggers and traffic control specialist to ensure compliance
  • Work cooperatively with work crews, and the general public
  • Ability to provide a safe work environment through creating a culture of safety for the project and holding everyone on the project accountable for safe behavior
  • Maintain regular and opened communication with Superintendent           
  • Maintain and forecast personnel needed to complete the job
  • Other duties as assigned

  ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to read and understand instructions, and specifications to determine work activities
  • Comply with municipality requirements, specifications, safety standards, and company policies.
  • Communicate with Project Manager and Superintendent
  • Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.
  • Perform weekly toolbox talks" regarding job site safety or other site related matter
  • Must have strong computer skills and maintain accurate attendance, manpower needs and site-related activities using tablet and software
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment Drug Screen
  • Clean MVR

  SALARY/HOURLY EXEMPTION:

  • Full-Time, Non-Exempt Position
  • Salary based on knowledge, experience, and education

  WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions that can include extreme cold and heat
  • Work environment periodically exposes the employees to high levels of noise, grease, and dust that is typically associated with a construction project
  • Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required

  WORKING HOURS/EXPECTATIONS:

  • Ability to work more than 40 hours in any given week including weekend assignments as required
  • Ability to workdays, nights or weekends as needed

  PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, bend, kneel, or crouch on all different types of terrain.
  • Frequent bending, twisting, and standing
  • The employee is also regularly required to talk, hear, or smell as well as use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds on occasions
  • Exposure to working outdoors in all-weather conditions

  EDUCATION:

  • High school or an equivalent is required. 

  LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Valid Driver License
  • Traffic Control Manager's Certification

  EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 1 year of Traffic Control Management experience
