Description
The Apprentice Shop Service Technician will assist the Shop Service Supervisor through on-the-job training (OJT) while learning and developing as a technician.
The incumbent in this position is expected to model the following practices on a daily basis: 1) Demonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core business values; 2) Collaborate with key internal/external resources;3) Participate in ongoing self-development.
Essential Functions
โข Assists in performing maintenance and repair of rental fleet
โข Assists with installation, repairs, maintenance, and replacement of mechanical and electrical components
โข Examines and test equipment, components, and parts to ensure proper functioning
โข Adjusts, connects, or disconnect wiring, piping, tubing, and other parts
โข Attends required classroom instructions by Pro-Tech and HDSI classes
โข Maintains safety training and procedures
โข Receives coaching, mentoring, and feedback from service leadership
โข Requires regular and punctual employee attendance
โข Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
โข Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements
Education and Experience:
โข High school diploma or equivalent required

Travel:
โข Very limited travel and overnight stays are expected for this position
Physical Requirements:
โข Visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination, and manual dexterity necessary to operate equipment
โข Routinely moves materials or equipment weighing up to 30 pounds
โข Must be able to move objects, and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue
โข Ascend/descend with gradual or continuous progress by oneself, using both hands and feet and climb up and down ladders
โข Be able to safely maneuver and work around equipment
โข Routinely reacts to visual, auditory, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work
Work Environment:
โข Regularly works indoors and outdoors around moving mechanical parts and may be exposed to weather extremes when working outside in conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity
โข Uses of hand and power tools to complete tasks
โข Noise level may be loud at times and may be exposed to whole body vibration
โข Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, steam, high-pressure water, and high speed rotating equipment
โข May spend time in stationary, confined, and high places
