Signage Installer
St. Louis, Missouri | Full-time | Hourly | Non-Exempt | Onsite

Our work spans healthcare campuses, universities, corporate headquarters, and civic institutions throughout the region. Backed by more than 60 years of industry leadership, our regional teams operate with local market focus supported by national manufacturing depth and enterprise resources.
Position Summary
The Signage Installer is responsible for safely installing, servicing, and removing interior and exterior signs at customer sites. This role includes loading and transporting signs, preparing installation sites, mounting signs to buildings and structures, and completing service or repair work while following safety procedures and job specifications.
Key Responsibilities
  • Load, transport, and unload signs, hardware, tools, and materials to and from job sites.
  • Install a variety of signage, including wall signs, post and panel signs, dimensional letters, vinyl graphics, and other interior and exterior signs.
  • Prepare installation sites by removing existing signage, laying out locations, drilling, setting anchors or posts, and sealing penetrations as required.
  • Use ladders, scaffolding,, bucket trucks, or aerial lifts as needed to access installation locations safely.
  • Read and interpret drawings, sign location plans, work orders, and installation instructions.
  • Verify measurements and placement on-site before final installation.
  • Perform service, maintenance, repair, and removal of existing signs as needed.
  • Operate and maintain hand tools and power tools such as drills, impact drivers, saws, grinders, and related equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe job site, including handling debris, packaging, and leftover materials properly.
  • Communicate with project managers, shop staff, and customers as needed to clarify details and complete jobs correctly.
  • Complete required job paperwork, photos, or digital documentation.
  • Perform shop prep work or related duties as assigned when not in the field.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior experience in sign installation, construction, carpentry, or related trades preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with hand tools and power tools.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and work accurately with basic measurements.
  • Ability to read and follow drawings, work orders, and verbal instructions.
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record required; CDL is a plus if applicable.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and travel to job sites as required.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a crew.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull signs, posts, and materials, often in the 50-75 lb range, with heavier items handled using team assistance or equipment.
  • Ability to climb, balance, bend, kneel, and work at heights for portions of the day.
  • Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, wind, and other weather conditions typical for field installation work.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with interior and exterior architectural signage installation.
  • Familiarity with vinyl application, dimensional letters, post and panel systems, and wayfinding signage.
  • Experience operating aerial lifts, bucket trucks, forklifts, or related equipment.
  • Welding, crane, or lift certification is a plus if applicable.
