Print Trade Craft: Screen Press Assistant Wanted in Fife!


Are you looking to build a hands-on career in specialized screen printing and manufacturing with a clear path to advance into a lead operator role? American Workforce Group has partnered with a premier custom printing and graphics manufacturer in Fife, WA to hire a full-time Screen Press Assistant. Working directly alongside an experienced Lead Press Operator, you will assist in the setup, running, and maintenance of a 6-color carousel screen press, handle specialized substrates (vinyl, polycarbonate, Sintra), mix inks, stage screens, and maintain strict print quality and color accuracy. Description for Screen Press Assistant:


  • Assist the lead press operator with the setup, alignment, operation, wash-up, and preventative maintenance of a 6-color carousel screen printing press.
  • Load and unload specialty rigid and flexible substrates, including vinyl, polycarbonate, and Sintra panels.
  • Prepare, mix, and match production inks; stage, clean, and reclaim printing screens and squeegees.
  • Conduct continuous visual inspections to monitor print registration, ink opacity, and color fidelity against approved proofs.
  • Assist in basic machine troubleshooting and minor adjustments to maintain efficient cycle times and minimize material scrap.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and solvent-safe press bay; support secondary finishing or bindery departments as production demands require.
  • Strictly adhere to facility safety guidelines, chemical handling procedures, and company confidentiality standards.
