Position Summary

The Electrical Journeyman is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes, and company safety standards. This position requires a highly skilled electrician with strong technical knowledge, leadership abilities, and a commitment to quality workmanship.

Essential Responsibilities

ยท Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment

ยท Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings

ยท Install conduit, wiring, panels, switchgear, lighting, and electrical devices

ยท Test electrical systems and identify issues using appropriate diagnostic equipment

ยท Ensure all work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local building codes

ยท Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, and other trades to maintain project schedules

ยท Maintain accurate documentation of work completed and materials used

ยท Mentor apprentices and less experienced electricians

ยท Follow all OSHA regulations and company safety policies

ยท Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required

ยท Valid Journeyman Electrician License (as required by state or local regulations)

ยท 5โ€“10 years of electrical experience in commercial, multi-family, or residential construction

ยท Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)

ยท Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics

ยท Experience with electrical troubleshooting and repairs

ยท Strong problem-solving and communication skills

ยท Ability to work independently and as part of a team

ยท Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record

ยท Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on ladders, lifts, and in varying weather conditions

Preferred

ยท OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification

ยท Experience supervising apprentices or small crews
