Job description

The financial industry is growing at a record pace, but our data providers are still stuck in the past - with cumbersome onboarding processes, complicated APIs, slow infrastructure, and expensive licensing costs.
Databento is the market data platform for modern finance. The company provides real-time and historical data across futures, options, and equities through a unified API. By owning the entire market data stack end-to-end, Databento is the first platform of its kind to combine the performance and reliability demanded by the world's leading trading firms with a dramatically simpler developer experience. Our team includes alumni of Two Sigma, Citadel Securities, Flow Traders, Tower Research, PDT Partners, SIG, and other top quantitative firms.
This is a junior-to-mid-level role focused on product marketing, positioning, messaging, and activation, with a strong emphasis on copywriting. You'll work across projects from concept through launch and execute directly. As a small, fast-growing team, this role offers room to grow laterally and help shape the marketing function at Databento.
We offer health, dental, disability, and life insurance benefits, as well as 401(k) matching for full-time employees. We accommodate 100% remote work, with teammates living around the globe and paid in their local currency.
Responsibilities
  • Write and review landing pages, activation flows, and sales copy to drive engagement and conversion.
  • Drive product marketing initiatives, including positioning, messaging, and launch campaigns.
  • Plan and execute content and social distribution (blogs, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, founder amplification).
  • Collaborate with product, sales, and growth teams on experiments, campaigns, and activation strategies.
  • Track and measure performance using analytics, dashboards, and CRM tools.
  • Support cross-functional initiatives to optimize user acquisition, engagement, and conversion.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • At least 2 years of experience in marketing or communications, with a strong emphasis on copywriting, content strategy, or brand messaging.
  • Writing samples across mediums, such as product and UX copy, landing pages, blog articles, SEO content, or social media.
  • Experience marketing to technical audiences (engineers, finance professionals, scientists).
  • Experience supporting product launches, sales copy, experiments, activation flows, or conversion optimization.
  • Experience creating content and social distribution (blogs, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, founder amplification).
  • Familiarity with marketing ops and analytics (CRM, dashboards, funnel tracking).
  • Familiarity with marketing design tools (e.g., Canva, Figma).
