Job description

Siemens Controls Engineer

Location : San Antonio, TX

Duration : Permanent

Onsite from day 1 (5 days / week)

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Siemens industrial control systems.
  • Strong experience with Siemens STEP 7 and TIA Portal.
  • Proven experience supporting both PLC and NC/CNC control systems.
  • Knowledge of Siemens PLC platforms such as S7-300, S7-400, S7-1200, and S7-1500.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic, function block diagrams, and control documentation.
  • Experience troubleshooting HMIs, industrial networks (PROFINET/Ethernet), field I/O, sensors, actuators, drives, and servo systems.
  • Strong production support and troubleshooting skills in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to participate in customer interviews and technical discussions.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in automotive, machining, assembly, or other high-volume manufacturing environments is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Siemens SINUMERIK or other NC/CNC platforms is preferred.
  • Experience with motion control, safety PLCs, commissioning, and equipment optimization is desirable.
  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field preferred.
  • Willingness to work onsite and support flexible production schedules as needed.
