Operations Manager – Roofing amp; Siding Division
The Operations Department is responsible for the scheduling, measuring, purchasing, installation and service of Roofing and Siding products for our customers. This position requires the ability to maximize the performance of both the Roofing and Siding markets by directing daily, weekly and monthly operational activities while providing leadership, motivation, training and development to the Operations Department staff. The Operations Manager provides leadership and oversight for the day-to-day operations of both divisions, ensuring operational efficiency, profitability, quality and customer delight while fostering a high-performing and positive workplace culture. Job Info:
  • Employment Type: Full-Time (On-Site; No Remote or Hybrid Work)
  • Location: 125 E Oakton St, Des Plaines, IL 60018
  • Hours: Mon – Fri from 7-4 PM, with occasional evening and/or Saturday availability required based on business needs.
  • Salary: $70,000 - $75,000 base salary + performance-based bonus potential
Job Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the daily operations of both the Roofing and Siding divisions, including scheduling, production, installation and service activities.
  • Schedule and coordinate roofing and siding crews for project installations.
  • Supervise field installations of roofing and siding products to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently and according to Feldco standards.
  • Coordinate with and relay production information to field installers, subcontractors and internal teams.
  • Manage all Roofing and Siding division employees, both in the office and in the field.
  • Schedule and coordinate additional subcontractors, suppliers and services associated with Roofing and Siding projects as needed.
  • Ensure all customer contract requirements are documented and executed to a degree that delights, rather than simply satisfies, our customers.
  • Utilize Feldco’s CRM tools to manage customer contracts, appointments and customer delight programs.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through process improvements, technology enhancements and other initiatives.
  • Deliver a safe, secure, clean and fair work environment for all Feldco employees.
  • Conduct staff performance reviews for Roofing and Siding employees, with a focus on employee development, performance improvement and succession planning as appropriate.
  • Ensure employees are familiar with and consistently follow established standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure company policies are communicated, administered and enforced, including accounting, operational, safety, regulatory and administrative policies.
  • Ensure associates and installers have the necessary tools, materials, equipment and resources to perform their assigned duties each day.
  • Operate within approved budgets for Roofing and Siding operations, including labor, overtime, purchasing and subcontractor expenses.
  • Monitor operational performance and identify opportunities to improve productivity, profitability and customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate the collection and reporting of performance measurements consistent with customer and Feldco requirements.
  • Address operational issues and customer concerns promptly and effectively, ensuring appropriate follow-up and resolution.
  • Maintain strong communication and collaboration between the Operations, Sales, Installation, Service, Accounting and other departments.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by leadership.
Position Requirements:
  • At least 5+ years of experience within the Home improvement and construction industry.
  • At least 3+ years of experience within the roofing industry overall (Residential roofing background preferred)
  • At least 2+ years of experience managing employees within the roofing, construction or home improvement industry
  • Prior scheduling experience.
  • Detailed oriented, organized and efficient. No tolerance for errors or oversights.
  • Problem solving skills necessary to diagnose, implement and complete installations and service calls which result in total customer delight.
