As a Shuttle Bus Driver, you willassistin this mission by providing secure transport services across our facilities. Whether offering a simple and friendly "Hello," or wheelchairassistance, you can make a lasting difference in the lives of passengers every day.

This is a part-time role. A caregiver in this position worksabout 20 hours per week between 4:00pm and 8:00pm with weekend assignments every 7 weeks.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Conduct friendly,courteousand helpful interactions with passengers.
  • Provide wheelchairassistanceto destination and provide positive hand off with destination caregiver.
  • Provide safe,efficientand quality shuttle transportationserviceas measured by drivingrecord, compliance with established DOT regulations and Cleveland Clinic safety policies.
  • Maintain vehicle presentation and cleanliness at all timesin accordance withpolicy and procedures.
  • Maintain situational awareness both inside/outside the shuttle at all times.
  • Report any suspicious behavior to CCPD.
  • Complete daily passenger vehicle safety inspections prior to placing the shuttle into operation and at the end of the shift.
  • Record deficiencies and report prior to dispatching the vehicle.
  • Maintain currency and effectiveness in operating wheelchair lift and associated equipment and safely secure patient and wheelchair at the wheelchair station.
  • Assistpassengers/luggage on/off shuttle.
  • Record ridership data.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Ability to read and write sufficiently to fill out maintenance check lists
  • Commercial driving training for purpose of safe handling of a shuttle bus with a capacity of up to 40 passengers
  • Valid CommercialDriver's License (CDL) with air brakes and passenger endorsement with less than six points on record
  • Eligible insurance for Foundation Vehicles according to CCF's insurance carrier's requirements
  • Drivers assume responsibility to pay fees associated with traffic violations
  • Five years of driving experience

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • High School Diploma
  • Prior experience transporting passengers, patients or clients

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
  • Ability to travel throughout the Cleveland Clinic health system
  • Ability to travel to locations outside of the Cleveland Clinic health system
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
  • Ability to move items weighing up to 50 pounds (lbs.)
  • Ability to move patients
  • Ability to assist patients, visitors and caregivers in wheelchairs in getting into and out of vehicles
  • Ability to drive
  • Ability to inspect equipment
  • Ability to clean, operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning products
  • Ability to distinguish color
  • Ability to work in confined spaces
  • Per Department of Transportation regulations, if you are a CDL driver you cannot be color blind.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $16.47

Maximum hourly: $23.61

The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.).
