POSITION OBJECTIVE:

  • Introduce and promote the Blu Dot brand, products and custom capabilities to the contract, A + D and Dealer communities.
  • Position Blu Dot as a design leader and great resource for commercial projects.
  • Identify and build relationships with decision makers and influencers in the furniture design and selection process and the related organizations throughout the life of a project.
  • Promote both existing Blu Dot products and our robust custom design and service capabilities.
  • Meet and exceed quarterly territory and annual Contract sales goals as dictated by department Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

  • Establish relationships with the contract, trade, procurement, and Dealer channel to share information and build confidence in Blu Dot's impressive design and service capabilities. This channel includes (but is not limited to) the following professional audience: architectural firms, interior design firms, hospitality companies, procurement agencies, contract furniture dealers, real estate development, educational institutions, entertainment/restaurant groups, co-working spaces, and contract end-users such as corporations and tech firms.
  • Meet regularly with customers/firms and prospect new customers through in-person meetings, lunch and learns, product presentations, and through email and phone follow up.
  • Direct quotes, purchases, and availability inquiries to the proper parties at Blu Dot.
  • Work closely with local showroom based and HQ Led Contract + Custom teams to pass along applicable inquiries and sales opportunities.
  • Provide a consultative sales experience for our customers and guide them to proper application. Articulate a product knowledge mastery of our assortments, designs, and capabilities.
  • Stay on top of industry trends.
  • Assist in facilitating a physical interaction with our designs by providing examples of our work and getting customers into our showroom spaces.
  • Arrange meetings and events in showroom spaces for existing and prospective customers.
  • Establish and communicate what tools/collateral is needed to reach the contract/trade audience most effectively.
  • Maintain, build, and share an accurate customer database in our CRM software, Pipedrive.
  • Communicate consistently and professionally with customers. Maintain brand standards in all communication and presentations.
  • Prepare and present an in-depth year end annual analysis of market performance, key accounts, and insights for the following fiscal year.
  • Maintain and properly leverage inventory and loaner program for in market demo items.
  • Active engagement in HQ lead trainings and product development feedback sessions.

IDEAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • College degree or equivalent.
  • No less than five years in contract sales rep role.
  • A successful track record in building and maintaining relationships and sales in targeted markets.
  • An established contact list of Dealers, Procurement Agencies A +D firms and designers in market.
  • Previous experience with a modern design aesthetic preferred.
  • Independent, entrepreneurial, professional, friendly, self-motivated with significant design and market knowledge.
  • Strong written, verbal, and analytical skills.
