Luxury Desert Escapes is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive General Manager to support the Owner and lead day-to-day operations across our luxury vacation rental portfolio in the Coachella Valley.
This role is designed to bring structure, accountability, and operational excellence to the business while ensuring a five-star experience for guests, homeowners, and internal staff. The General Manager will play a key role in organizing the company, managing staff, improving systems, overseeing guest and property operations, and helping the Owner execute local business goals.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, high-pressure hospitality environment and is confident leading people, building systems, solving problems quickly, and maintaining exceptional standards across all properties.
Core Purpose of the Role
The General Manager is responsible for supporting the Owner by creating organization within the business, leading staff, improving workflows, overseeing property operations, and ensuring consistent execution across the Luxury Desert Escapes portfolio.
Key Objectives
The General Manager will be expected to:
  • Bring greater organization and structure to daily business operations
  • Manage staff, including maintenance, inspections, and housekeeping coordination
  • Help ensure 24/7 guest communication coverage for urgent guest needs and issues
  • Share phone access responsibilities for guest communication as part of the management team
  • Support guest check-ins as needed
  • Assist with design services and collaborate with the Owner on design proposals
  • Develop and improve inspection workflows and quality-control systems
  • Manage staff schedules and daily operational coordination
  • Develop inventory systems and assign ongoing inventory responsibilities to VAs and the maintenance/inspection team
  • Create inspection and maintenance workflows in the Breezeway Home app
  • Assist with owner billing for maintenance, damage, and operational tasks
  • Oversee VA duties and use virtual assistant support to help company operations
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Owner Support & Business Organization
  • Serve as a key operational support partner to the Owner
  • Help organize business workflows, priorities, and daily operations
  • Build systems and processes that improve structure, accountability, efficiency, and follow-through
  • Assist the Owner in executing local operational goals across staff, vendors, properties, and projects
  • Help implement best practices in an evolving startup-style environment
  • Provide consistent updates to the Owner regarding staffing, property readiness, guest issues, and operational priorities
2. Staff Management & Leadership
  • Lead and manage field staff, including maintenance, inspections, and housekeeping coordination
  • Oversee daily staff assignments, schedules, performance expectations, and accountability
  • Ensure team members clearly understand responsibilities, deadlines, and company standards
  • Help recruit, train, onboard, and support dependable team members as needed
  • Lead by example with urgency, professionalism, accountability, and attention to detail
  • Resolve staffing gaps, scheduling conflicts, and operational bottlenecks quickly and effectively
  • Oversee virtual assistant duties and direct assigned administrative support to assist with operations, follow-up, reporting, and administrative tasks
3. Guest Communication & Guest Experience
  • Help ensure 24/7 access to phone coverage for guest responses, emergencies, and in-stay needs
  • Share on-call guest communication responsibilities with other team members as needed
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest inquiries, issues, complaints, and urgent requests
  • Help manage reservation concerns, guest satisfaction issues, service recovery, and refund-related situations
  • Maintain a five-star hospitality mindset and ensure an exceptional guest experience for every reservation
  • Support in-person guest check-ins when needed
4. Property Operations & Quality Control
  • Oversee operations for a portfolio of luxury vacation rental properties in the Coachella Valley
  • Ensure homes are guest-ready, owner-ready, clean, stocked, maintained, and operating at company standards
  • Conduct or oversee inspections prior to guest arrivals and owner stays
  • Develop and improve inspection workflows and accountability procedures
  • Create and maintain property inspection and maintenance checklists in the Breezeway Home app
  • Build maintenance workflows in Breezeway to improve issue tracking, recurring tasks, and field accountability
  • Monitor completion of inspections, turnover readiness, maintenance items, and open task lists
  • Step in and provide cross-coverage when necessary to support operations
5. Inventory, Supplies & Procurement
  • Develop and implement a streamlined inventory management system across the portfolio
  • Create clear inventory workflows, ordering procedures, par levels, restocking standards, and accountability processes for all properties
  • Assign and delegate inventory-related responsibilities to VAs and the maintenance/inspection team
  • Train team members on inventory procedures, reporting expectations, and restocking standards
  • Oversee inventory tracking for consumables, linens, guest supplies, replacement items, and operational materials
  • Ensure VAs assist with ordering coordination, vendor communication, tracking, reporting, and administrative follow-through
  • Ensure the maintenance and inspection team assists with on-site inventory counts, supply checks, restocking support, and reporting shortages
  • Build a repeatable system for identifying low stock, approving purchases, ordering supplies, and distributing items to each property
  • Monitor inventory performance and hold assigned team members accountable for execution, organization, and accuracy
  • Help reduce waste, avoid stock shortages, and improve consistency across all homes
6. Scheduling & Workflow Coordination
  • Manage schedules for staff across maintenance, inspections, housekeeping coordination, and operational support
  • Coordinate daily and weekly priorities based on arrivals, departures, maintenance needs, owner requests, and project timelines
  • Ensure staff resources are assigned efficiently across the portfolio
  • Improve internal workflow organization, delegation, and task follow-through
  • Create systems for tracking open tasks, deadlines, and operational completion
7. Billing, Expense Coordination & Financial Support
  • Assist with billing homeowners for maintenance charges, repair items, damages, and operational tasks
  • Review and organize property expenses, departmental purchases, and operational costs
  • Support reconciliation of expenses and purchases across departments
  • Track damage reports, maintenance-related charges, and inspection-related costs
  • Help ensure expenses are documented accurately and submitted clearly for owner billing and internal review
  • Support financial oversight across maintenance, inspection, and damage-related operations
8. Property Onboarding & Owner Relations
  • Help oversee onboarding and operational organization of new properties
  • Develop strong working relationships with homeowners through proactive communication and consistent execution
  • Become the subject matter expert on assigned properties, including their systems, standards, layouts, and owner expectations
  • Help homeowners with questions and concerns regarding reservations, maintenance, charges, and operational issues
  • Ensure homes are well cared for, properly maintained, and represented at a luxury hospitality standard
9. Design Services & Brand Support
  • Assist with design-related services for Luxury Desert Escapes properties and brand presentation
  • Work directly with the Owner to develop and submit design proposals
  • Support home styling, furnishing, presentation, and aesthetic improvement initiatives
  • Help maintain and elevate the Luxury Desert Escapes brand across homes and guest-facing experiences
  • May assist with social media and broader brand-support initiatives as needed
10. Management Team Contribution
  • Serve as a key player and influencer on the management team
  • Bring solutions, ideas, and operational improvements to leadership discussions
  • Identify issues early and take initiative to resolve them
  • Support the long-term growth, organization, and scalability of the company
  • Help build a strong team culture focused on accountability, hospitality, quality, and execution
Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience in property management, hospitality, vacation rentals, or multi-site operations
  • Strong experience in a fast-paced, high-pressure service environment
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and time-management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities at once
  • High attention to detail with a commitment to precision and follow-through
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Comfortable building systems, leading people, and improving operations
  • Hospitality and/or real estate experience preferred
  • Spanish and English preferred
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license required
  • Willingness to travel regularly within the Coachella Valley

Work Schedule & Availability
  • Availability to work Sunday through Saturday, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
