WHO YOU ARE:

We are seeking a skilled Shopify Developer to support and enhance our Shopify ecosystem. This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing backend functionality across our Shopify storefront, integrations, and custom applications. The ideal candidate has strong experience with Shopify development, APIs, system integrations, and performance optimization, and is passionate about creating scalable e-commerce solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain custom Shopify functionality, apps, and backend solutions.
  • Build, manage, and optimize integrations between Shopify and third-party platforms, including ERP, OMS, CRM, PIM, payment providers, and marketing tools.
  • Work with Shopify APIs (Admin API, Storefront API, GraphQL, REST APIs) to create scalable solutions.
  • Design and implement custom scripts, workflows, and automations to improve operational efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve backend issues related to integrations, data synchronization, and platform performance.
  • Collaborate with front-end developers, UX/UI designers, digital marketers, and business stakeholders to support e-commerce initiatives.
  • Monitor website performance, security, and scalability, implementing improvements as needed.
  • Ensure data integrity across systems and maintain accurate product, inventory, and order information.
  • Participate in code reviews and follow development best practices, documentation standards, and version control processes.
  • Stay current with Shopify platform updates, new features, and industry trends.
  • Additional tasks as required.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in Shopify development, with a strong focus on backend functionality.
  • Experience working with Shopify Plus is considered an asset.
  • Strong proficiency in:
    • JavaScript / TypeScript
    • Node.js
    • Shopify APIs (GraphQL and REST)
    • Webhooks
    • Git and version control
  • Experience building custom Shopify apps and integrations.
  • Familiarity with cloud services and serverless architectures (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure) is an asset.
  • Experience integrating Shopify with ERP, OMS, CRM, WMS, or PIM platforms.
  • Understanding of e-commerce architecture, security, and performance best practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Shopify Functions, Shopify Flow, and Shopify Checkout Extensibility.
  • Knowledge of databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
