Location: Bay Area, CA

POSITION SUMMARY:

  • We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Part-Time Bookkeeper to support the day-to-day accounting and payroll functions of our growing business. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing payroll, managing accounts payable, reconciling transactions, and supporting studio managers with accounting and payroll-related matters. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO), excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities. Experience with Paychex Flex and Shopify is preferred but not required.

 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accounting & Bookkeeping

  • Review, verify, and categorize all transactions within the QuickBooks Online bank feed
  • Enter and maintain accurate credit card transactions in QuickBooks Online
  • Perform monthly credit card reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
  • Process accounts payable invoices and maintain accurate vendor records
  • Reconcile cash sales between QuickBooks Online and Shopify
  • Assist with month-end bookkeeping activities and maintain accurate financial records

Payroll Administration

  • Process bi-weekly payroll using Paychex Flex
  • Onboard new employees and maintain payroll records within Paychex Flex
  • Ensure payroll information is accurate, complete, and processed on time
  • Assist managers and employees with payroll-related questions and issues

Employee Records & Administrative Support

  • Maintain organized electronic employee files and personnel documentation
  • Ensure confidentiality and security of employee and financial information
  • Provide bookkeeping and payroll support to studio managers as needed
  • Assist with additional administrative and accounting duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years of bookkeeping, accounting, or payroll experience
  • Strong proficiency with QuickBooks Online (QBO) is required
  • Experience with bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, accounts payable, and payroll processing
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Paychex Flex
  • Experience with Shopify or other e-commerce platforms
  • Previous experience supporting multiple locations or retail/service-based businesses
  • Knowledge of payroll compliance and employee record management
