About the Role


Hagar Enterprises, Inc. is seeking an experienced, hands-on Shop Foreman to lead our maintenance operations and oversee our entire fleet of vehicles and heavy construction equipment. In this critical leadership role, you will be responsible for managing diesel mechanics, keeping our shop clean, organized, and safe, and ensuring our machinery is fully operational to support our paving, sealcoating, and construction crews.


Key Responsibilities


  • Fleet & Equipment Oversight: Manage the preventative maintenance, servicing, and complex repairs of our entire fleet of trucks, heavy construction equipment, and specialty machinery.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor diesel mechanics and shop personnel, assigning daily work orders, providing technical guidance, and ensuring high standards of workmanship.
  • Shop Management: Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and efficient shop environment. Enforce safety regulations, proper tool usage, and environmental compliance.
  • Parts & Inventory Control: Coordinate parts ordering, manage inventory levels, and track maintenance records and repair histories for all company assets.
  • Cross-Functional Support: Collaborate with project foremen and management to minimize equipment downtime and swiftly troubleshoot field breakdowns.

Minimum Qualifications


  • High school diploma or GED (technical or trade school certification in diesel mechanics preferred).
  • Proven experience as a heavy equipment/diesel mechanic with previous leadership or shop supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and welding.
  • Ability to pass a drug screening as required by federal, state, or local regulations.
  • Strong organizational skills and commitment to maintaining a safe, hazard-free workplace.
  • Physical capability to lift heavy objects, stand, bend, and work in a hands-on shop environment.
