Job description

Position: Shop Helper

Department: Shop Operations

Reports to: Shop Operations Manager

Pay: $18-22/hr

Job Objective: Assists other workers in all shop operations departments. Load and unload product and material from delivery trucks. Promotes and enhances TSM Metal Works mission to create a community of industry experts committed to supply chain solutions, quality products and superior customer satisfaction.

Skill Summary:

Will assists workers in various departments. Keeps general work areas clean. Work contributes to the success of the team goals.

Essential Responsibilities and Dutiesinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assists other workers by performing any combination of the following tasks: Lifts, positions, and removes workpieces from machines to assist machine operators or fabrication personnel.
  • Loads, stacks, and transports tools, work in process, or drops by hand or by lift.
  • Cleans and scrapes metal in preparatory to fabricating or shipping.
  • Picks up, sorts, and stacks or disposes of drop material from work areas.
  • Stack, sort, organize and package finished product for shipping.
  • Keeps general areas clean, including sweeping and sanitation duties.
  • Adheres to the best practices to maintain a safe worksite and products
  • Aids and assists other team members to complete the department's and the company's goals.
  • Works the assigned schedule including any overtime and complies with the company's timekeeping policy.

Qualifications and SkillsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Ability to learn and use all software and computing products assigned.
  • Displays strong organization and time management skills.
