Job description

Job Posting: Shop Assistant

Hourly Rate: $18-$22/hour

Reports to: Shop Manager

Location: Nashville, TN

Located in our beautiful Nashville, TN facility and reporting to the Shop Manager, the Shop Assistant will support shop operations by assisting the team with all shop related tasks.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide general assistance around the shop, including administrative and technical tasks
  • Assist with shop loading and jobsite preparation
  • Load and unload delivery trucks
  • Clean and maintain equipment as directed
  • Assist project managers and shop supervisor.
  • Operate equipment such as forklift
  • Receive, unpack, and arrange new shipments from suppliers and vendors
  • Arranging and labelling goods
  • Receive/unload trucks and correctly identifies and stores materials in proper locations
  • Pick material from inventory to fulfill orders for projects
  • Clean and organize shop for efficient workflow
  • Drive company trucks to job sites and delivers material
  • Assist in job site pick-ups/clean ups
  • Maintain a good driving record and obeys traffic laws in company vehicles
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Previous warehouse experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in inventory software, computer systems, and barcode scanners.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull heavy items (typically up to 50 lbs), and stand for long periods.
  • High attention to detail for tracking, recording, and verifying data.
  • Experience with, or ability to learn, forklifts, pallet jacks, and shipping tools.
