JMT Consultants is a North American-based global leader specializing in steel and concrete design solutions. Services include pre-construction modeling, structural design support, steel and concrete detailing, connection and stair engineering, panel book detailing, estimate modeling, and BIM management.


We are seeking a talented and motivated Steel Shop Drawing Reviewer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about reviewing steel shop drawings, committed to continuous learning, and eager to contribute to exciting projects that make a real impact.


Candidates will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects under the guidance of experienced engineers on structural steel connection projects. They will assist in the review of structural steel shop drawings and the organization and development of RFIs in conjunction with the Apex connection designer.

What you'll do:

  • Primary responsibilities will include reviewing structural steel shop drawings with delegated steel connection design drawings.
  • Organizing and creating RFIs in conjunction with the Apex connection designer.
  • Typical projects would consist of steel connection design, miscellaneous steel design, and erection engineering.
  • Utilize software programs such as Bluebeam and Trimble Connect.
  • Review 3-D BIM models to aid in building design, connection design and shop drawing reviews.

  • 10+ years of structural steel detailing experience.
  • An advanced understanding of structural steel and the AISC Design Manual.
