Position Overview:

As the Shop Floor Mechanic I, you will be responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems.

About The Role:

  • Perform maintenance tasks including, but not limited to, mechanical, minor electrical, troubleshooting, and repairs to production equipmentand Sewing Machines

  • Respond to production maintenance requests by supervisors and/or the Production Managerand Lead Mechanicin a timely manner

  • Communicate with Production Managerregardingany downtime or maintenance issues that may affect production

  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electricmetersand material handling equipment in performing duties

  • Perform planned preventative maintenance on production equipment according to the Preventative Maintenance Program and schedule

  • Lubricate, clean,maintainand repair machinery,equipmentand tools

  • Comply withsafety regulations andmaintainclean and orderly work areas

  • Maintain adequate parts, supplies and equipment for the production and maintenance departments

  • Provide suggestions on improving sewing processes

  • Capable ofprogramming PS700/800,assistwith line design

  • Capable ofTemplate design and implementationforRichpeace, Juki PS700 and PS800 machines

About You:

  • High School diploma/GED

  • 5 years of Maintenance experience

  • Minimum 2years experienceworking on Industrial Sewing Machines

  • Building trades' certificate, or equivalent, considered an asset

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in the operation and maintenance of sewing equipment

  • Good understanding of Occupational Health and Safety Act and Fire Code

  • Able to create alternative solutions to problems

  • Ability tooperaterequired equipment in a safe and responsible manner

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong time management skills

  • Basic computer skillsin order torespond to email inquiries and place orders; MS Office and Excel

  • Must be comfortable with heavy lifting up to 50lbs

  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task,operateproactively, work as a team and handle challenges

  • Excellent decision-making abilities, interpersonal and analytical skills

  • Ability to evaluate options and generate solutions

  • Ability toprogramming PS700/800

  • Ability ofTemplate design and implementationforRichpeace, Juki PS700 and PS800 machines
