Job description

RMS

Positon: Rigger Helper

Location: Colorado Springs, CO

Report to: Branch Manager

RMS is looking to add an experienced full-time Rigger Helper to our growing Branch. The following are a list of requirements; You must meet all the requirements below to be considered for this position.

RMS is offering our employees a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package which include health benefits, paid vacation, per diem, and the opportunity to work plenty hours of overtime. We are always looking for individuals with the talent and skills required to contribute to our continued growth and success.

Pay range: $18 - $23 per hour

Summary: Assists the crane operator on job tasks during the operation of the crane and provides rigging operation and hand signals to ensure safe lifting of the load. Follows all State and Federal laws while operating motor vehicle. Obeys all safety and environmental policies while performing work on the job site.

Responsibilities:

  • Leaning and preparation of construction equipment and cranes
  • They deliver/pick-up of parts and equipment as required
  • Assist in the loading and unloading of rental equipment
  • Perform basic maintenance on some rental items
  • Keep work area and yard in order including the shop
  • Assist with service and maintenance record keeping on the crane inspections and DOT inspections for trucks and trailers.
  • Must be able to operate equipment such as booms, forklifts, cranes, tractor, trailer, hydraulic and electrical tools and equipment, and related tools and equipment for minor repairs.
  • Must always maintain satisfactory driving record which may be subject to approval by company's insurer and in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

•    Must possess a valid driver's license.
•    Possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
•    Must be able to pass a drug test, background check.


Skills Required:

•    Ability to safely use hand and power tools, equipment, and diagnostic devices
•    Ability to understand and fill out service-related documents and paperwork
•    Must be able to operate a 2-way radio, if necessary
•    Must be dependable and report to work on time
•    Must be able to communicate effectively with customers, supervisors, yard and dispatch personnel
•    Must exhibit a high level of safety consciousness and a clear understanding of equipment safety
•    Good written and verbal communication skills
