THE COMPANY

Toebe Construction is a Wixom, Michigan based heavy civil contractor specializing in Bridgework, Concrete Paving, and Excavation/Underground work. THE POSITION

The Administrative Assistant - Equipment Shop will play a key role in providing administrative and project support to the Director of Equipment and Shop/Yard Operations and serving as a central point of coordination for day-to-day shop and equipment operations. Our team functions best in a collaborative and interdependent atmosphere, and this opportunity will provide just that as part of a tight-knit group within a larger company structure.

The Administrative Assistant has the primary responsibility for keeping shop operations organized and moving efficiently, including receiving and tracking shipments, maintaining material and equipment-related inventories, coordinating documentation and information flow, and managing all administrative functions within the shop. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working at the center of a fast-paced shop environment.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • A Bachelor's or Associate's Degree is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relative work experience.
  • At least 3 years of administrative experience, preferably in the Construction industry.
  • Must be comfortable working in a hands-on shop environment and communicating daily with field personnel, vendors, and project staff
  • Strong sense of personal accountability and ownership to see tasks through to completion
  • Strong computer skills, including the Microsoft Office Suite of programs
