Job description

About Maddox + You:

As a Shop Assistant, you would be working in a shop environment maintaining a clean workplace and removing impediments to production employees.

This is a fast-paced, hard-working, but very rewarding environment. Maddox is a great American company which values honesty, integrity, and recognizes the men and women who serve our customers, build up the team, and value the company and culture we've built.

Your day-to-day activities will involve cleaning, forklift and overhead crane operation, equipment inspections, stocking items, and completing various one-off tasks.

This is an ideal role for someone looking to get their foot in the door with a company that provides the opportunity to build a career in a positive environment, with an employer who values and recognizes your strong character, stable lifestyle, and dedicated work ethic.

More about You:

  • You take initiative to find the next thing
  • You love working with your hands to fix things and solve problems.
  • You're comfortable with online documentation and web-based software systems (with computer & smartphone)
  • You're a good communicator; in-person, over the phone, and via email.
  • You enjoy working with others
  • You're a good learner; not a know-it-all.

Basics:

  • Full-time. The schedule is generally 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM.
  • Drug-free workplace.

Comprehensive Full-Time Benefits, including:

  • 3 Weeks Paid Time Off (PTO) (and an additional week for managers, and an additional week after 5 years).
  • Health & Wellness: Can be taken as traditional insurance, or as cash in lieu of benefits. Benefit amounts vary based on age, family status, and eligibility, but as an example, in most circumstances, an employee with a spouse and 3 kids, would be eligible for $19,200 / year or more.
  • Paid paternity/maternity leave
  • 401k with 100% match up to 8% of wages.
  • Paid holidays, marriage and family gifts to celebrate significant life events, and other reimbursements and voluntary benefits and coverages (such as Vision, Dental, Short Term Disability, Additional Life Insurance, Accident, etc), as eligible.

Experience & Education:

We value skills and experience (welding, fabrication, general shop/mechanical skills, autobody prep/paint), but we're also willing to invest in training early-career candidates with the right attitude and ambition.

Pay: $21.52 - $28.07 per hour, depending on experience. This position has a path to promotion to "Level 2", which earns up to $32.74 per hour, and can continue growing from there.

Pro Tip: We got a LOT of applicants, so please write a few sentences telling us what stood out to you, and why you think you'd thrive in this particular opportunity.
