Job description

Overview:
The Golf Shop Assistant Manager position is responsible for assisting the professional staff with daily transactions, customer service and supervisory duties.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Establish, support and maintain collaborative efforts with internal and external customers and organizations.
  2. Maintain proper phone protocol.
  3. Collect appropriate fees.
  4. Reserve tee times.
  5. Verify Naperville Park District residency.
  6. Assist in general maintenance and cleanliness of clubhouse.
  7. Assist in presentation and sale of merchandise.
  8. Inform customers about daily information.
  9. Prepare daily closing paperwork.
  10. Open and close facilities.
  11. Assist other staff with special duties assigned by professional staff.
  12. Demonstrate and support park district customer service standards.
  13. Follow district and departmental safety, personnel, and administrative policies, procedures and ordinances.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform job responsibilities of the player assistant/monitor pace of play.
  • Perform job responsibilities of the cart/range attendant.
  • Perform job responsibilities of the food service cashier.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills (i.e., professional ability to attend to customer needs).
  • Ability to address complaints and resolve concerns as needed.
  • Good computer skills in common software programs.
  • Knowledge of the operations of golf course and facilities.
  • Excellent cash handling skills.

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • CPR and AED certification required.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, BASSETT certification within three (3) months of date of hire.

Special Considerations:
  • Subject to modified/flexible work schedule during high volume work periods.
  • Subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions.
  • Occasional exposure to pesticides and exhaust fumes.
  • Ability to lift light to medium weight (20-50 lbs.) objects.

Benefits
