Job description

Title: Media and Shooting Sports Marketing Specialist

Location: Clayton, MO

Salary: $72,300 - $82,800 (depending on relevant experience)

Schedule: Onsite, Monday through Friday

Focus: This role leads key aspects of media relations and shooting sports marketing for Winchester Ammunition and associated brands. The position is responsible for cultivating strong media and industry relationships, managing shooting sports partnerships, and promoting products and brand initiatives across all communication channels.

Media and Shooting Sports Marketing Specialist Essential Functions:
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with print, digital, and influencer media to maximize product and brand visibility.
  • Support planning, scheduling, and logistics for media events, ensuring alignment with annual product-sales cycles.
  • Write and distribute product and sponsorship press releases; ensure timely follow‑up with media contacts.
  • Track editorial coverage tied to media investments and drive increased exposure across all product lines.
  • Assist with ammunition, target, and merchandise order fulfillment for priority media needs.
  • Oversee shooting sports sponsorship logistics and contract fulfillment with key organizational partners, including Team Winchester and Team White Flyer.
  • Support shooting sports marketing plans in alignment with sales and product management, with emphasis on shotgun sports (ATA, SCTP, NSCA) and expanding rifle/pistol initiatives.
  • Serve as the primary marketing contact for programs such as the Elite Range Program, VIP purchase programs, and Winchester Co-op for retail partners.
  • Provide content support for the Winchester website and communications related to NILO and Shooting Sports Facilities.
  • Represent Winchester at trade and consumer events as needed.
Media and Shooting Sports Marketing Specialist Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree*; Marketing, Business Management, Communications, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum three years of marketing or business experience, with media relations and shooting sports industry involvement.
  • Existing relationships within the shooting sports industry and editorial community preferred.
  • Hunting and/or shooting experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and relevant software tools (Adobe Suite preferred).
  • Proven ability to manage high-volume workloads, adapt to shifting priorities, and work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong creative thinking, organizational, communication, interpersonal, and prioritization skills.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to travel up to 20%.
Location-Specific Requirements:
  • This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
