Role Overview
We are seeking a Shipyard Scheduler / Planner to support vessel construction, commissioning, and delivery operations across our autonomous vessel programs.
This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing integrated production schedules that align engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, commissioning, and maritime operations activities. The Shipyard Scheduler / Planner serves as a central coordination point across the shipyard, ensuring work is sequenced efficiently, resources are aligned, and vessel milestones are achieved safely and on schedule.
The ideal candidate combines strong planning and analytical skills with an understanding of shipbuilding, manufacturing, or complex industrial operations and thrives in a fast-paced environment where priorities evolve rapidly.
Responsibilities
โ€ข Develop and maintain integrated vessel construction, commissioning, and delivery schedules
โ€ข Coordinate planning activities across engineering, production, supply chain, commissioning, quality, and maritime operations teams
โ€ข Create detailed work breakdown structures (WBS), production schedules, and milestone plans for vessel programs
โ€ข Monitor schedule performance and identify risks, constraints, and recovery opportunities
โ€ข Facilitate daily, weekly, and monthly production planning and schedule review meetings
โ€ข Coordinate material readiness, labor availability, facility constraints, and commissioning requirements within project schedules
โ€ข Support production sequencing, work package planning, and operational readiness activities
โ€ข Track critical path activities and provide schedule performance reporting to leadership teams
โ€ข Analyze schedule trends and recommend actions to improve throughput, efficiency, and vessel delivery performance
โ€ข Support launch schedules, dock trials, sea trials, and customer delivery readiness planning
โ€ข Assist with capacity planning, resource forecasting, and workforce planning activities
โ€ข Maintain planning and scheduling data within ERP, MES, project management, and scheduling systems
โ€ข Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency and schedule predictability
Qualifications
โ€ข Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, or related discipline; equivalent experience may be considered
โ€ข 3+ years of experience in production planning, scheduling, manufacturing operations, shipbuilding, construction, industrial operations, or project controls
โ€ข Experience developing and maintaining complex project schedules
โ€ข Strong understanding of production workflows, manufacturing operations, or industrial construction environments
โ€ข Proficiency with scheduling software
โ€ข Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail
โ€ข Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and competing priorities
โ€ข Ability to interpret engineering drawings, production plans, and technical documentation
โ€ข Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
โ€ข Comfortable working directly within shipyard, manufacturing, or operational environments
โ€ข Familiarity with ERP, MES, or digital production management systems
โ€ข Understanding of critical path scheduling, earned value management, or project controls methodologies
โ€ข Experience with resource planning, capacity modeling, and production forecasting
โ€ข PMP, PMI-SP, AACE, Lean, or similar professional certifications
โ€ข Experience supporting high-mix, low-volume manufacturing or rapid production scaling environments
