TITLE: Shipping Coordinator Lead

POSITION OBJECTIVE: The Lead Shipping Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and optimizing all outbound shipping operations within a paper manufacturing environment. This role ensures timely, accurate, and cost-effective delivery of finished goods while maintaining compliance with transportation regulations and customer requirements. The position requires strong coordination with production, warehouse, and customer service teams.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred3-5 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse operations, preferably in manufacturingPrior experience in a lead or senior role is a plusKnowledge of freight operations (LTL, FTL, flatbed, and/or rail)Experience with ERP or warehouse management systemsFamiliarity with paper manufacturing products and handling requirements preferredKnowledge of international shipping and export compliance is a plusAble to lift up to 50 pounds routinelyExcellent organizational and multitasking abilitiesStrong problem-solving and decision-making skillsEffective communication and interpersonal skillsHigh attention to detail and accuracyAbility to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) ERP, AS400, IBS system and general computer programs.Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessaryCapable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions

Coordinate daily shipping activities for finished paper products, including scheduling carriers, preparing documentation, and tracking shipments

Ensure on-time delivery performance while minimizing freight costsServe as the primary point of contact for shipping-related questions and issue resolution on the floorAssist in prioritizing workloads and assigning tasks to shipping personnel based on production and delivery schedules

Collaborate closely with production and warehouse teams to align shipping schedules with manufacturing outputPrepare and review shipping documents such as bills of lading, packing lists, and export documentation

Communicate with carriers and logistics providers to arrange pickups and resolve scheduling issuesSupport training of new employees and reinforce standard operating procedures

Collaborate with production and warehouse teams to ensure alignment of shipping schedules with outputEnsure proper handling and loading of paper products, including rolls and palletized materialsManage relationships with carriers, freight brokers, and logistics providersMonitor shipment status and proactively resolve delays, damages, or discrepanciesEnsure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and other regulatory requirementsMaintain accurate records in ERP/WMS systemsAnalyze shipping data to identify trends and implement process improvementsSupport continuous improvement initiatives related to logistics efficiency and cost reduction
