Overview

Silent-Aire Limited Partnership is a wholly owned subsidiary of Johnson Controls. Silent-Aire is a technology driven company that designs, engineers and manufactures hyperscale cooling and modular data center solutions.


This role is located at our facility in Nisku and you must have a reliable transportation to commute.

This role will be offered to work Rotating Dayshift or Monday to Thursday Nightshift.

Overview

The Shipper/Receiver ensures seamless processing of outgoing shipments and incoming items. The Shipper/Receiver understands the impact of this position to other business functions that depend on the accuracy and efficiency of outgoing items.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Manually load and unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms, cars, and lifting devices.

  • Put away received materials to proper storage locations.

  • Process all required paperwork and maintain adequate records in Sage for reporting and tracking.

  • Maintain filing of shipping documents.

  • Prepare and schedule shipments and daily transportation needs with different carriers/couriers.

  • Oversee the secure and accurate loading and unloading of deliveries.

  • Perform forklift circle checks and routine maintenance on vehicles and auxiliary equipment.

  • Manage inventory of shipping materials and supplies.

  • Sort and distribute incoming shipments to applicable departments.

  • Perform quality audits of the condition of shipped goods for both incoming and outgoing items prior to signing off and report discrepancies to immediate supervisor.

  • Ensure that shipments contain proper documentation and if multiple items per shipment, ensure item lists are complete.

  • Problem-solve for any causes of missing documents, shipments, and deliveries.

  • Perform all duties in accordance with Silent-Aire Limited Partnership safety program standards and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations and Code.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to operate material handling equipment including forklift truck.

  • Online shipping, tracking, and receiving experience utilizing FedEx, UPS, Purolator and DHL.

  • Experience in the manufacturing industry preferred.

  • Min 2 years working experience in shipping and receiving role required.

  • Able to communicate both verbally and in writing.

  • Time management skills.

  • Basic mathematical skills.

  • Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.

  • Attention to detail in all areas of work.

  • Dependable, with good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills.

  • Computer skills are a must, specifically Microsoft Office Apps like Outlook and Excel.

Working Conditions

  • Exercise caution, as the environment presents many naturally occurring hazards.

  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.

  • Always adhere to safety policies (wear protective equipment).

  • Employee may be exposed to uncomfortable work settings such as cold or hot weather outdoors; may have combinations of standing, crouching, or sitting throughout the day.

  • Must be able to carry and move equipment and/or supplies in excess of 40 pounds.

  • Fast-paced environment.

  • Overtime as required.
