Position Summary
The Assistant Manager, Shipping is responsible for coordinating and overseeing daily shipping operations to ensure efficient, accurate, and timely delivery of products to customers. This role supports operational planning, manages shipping workflows, resolves shipping-related issues, and ensures adherence to safety, quality, and customer service standards.

Job Responsibilities

Shipping & Warehouse Operations
  • Coordinate and oversee all shipping activities to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Ensure products are completed, prepared, and shipped according to customer requirements and delivery schedules.
  • Monitor daily shipping schedules and proactively address potential delays or disruptions.
  • Manage and resolve backorder issues to minimize customer impact and maintain service levels.
  • Address shipping-related concerns raised by drivers, carriers, customers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with production, inventory, and customer service teams to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized warehouse and shipping area.
  • Ensure proper handling, loading, storage, and transportation practices are followed to prevent product damage.
  • Monitor compliance with workplace safety standards and company policies.
Leadership & Team Management
  • Support, guide, and coordinate shipping team members to achieve daily operational goals.
  • Assist in training and onboarding shipping staff on procedures, safety standards, and best practices.
  • Monitor team performance and provide feedback to ensure productivity and quality standards are met.
  • Work closely with management to implement operational improvements and achieve departmental objectives.

Experience

  • Previous experience with Manufacturing or Construction industry.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Working conditions
  • Lifting and/or carrying anywhere from 0 lbs to 50 lbs.
  • Work in a production facility and in an office located in the Shipping area.

  • Walking near to heavy tool and moving machinery.
